DOYLESTOWN, PA – Brian Fitzpatrick, former FBI special agent and federal prosecutor, has earned the endorsement of both the Bucks County Courier Times and the Intelligencer newspapers in his run to represent Pennsylvania’s 8th District in Congress. Excerpts below:
On Negative Attacks:
“[A]mong the knocks on Fitzpatrick… they are false and malicious accusations.
Fitzpatrick left Bucks to serve his country. In the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Fitzpatrick joined the FBI and shelved a law career that included a stint as a federal prosecutor. He was sent to Iraq where he worked as a counter-terrorism special agent. His service to the FBI, which included fighting corruption, kept him out of the area for six years. Fitzpatrick said his decision to run for Congress is a natural extension of his desire for public service.”
On Brian’s Background:
“Fitzpatrick makes a reasoned argument that his time in the FBI gives him greater insight into the scourge of terrorism as well as a nuanced understanding of the troubled Middle East; that his credentials as a certified public accountant likewise give him a special understanding of finances and budgeting — something Congress surely could use; and that his lack of legislative experience better qualifies him to pursue change in Washington than an experienced lawmaker immersed in the politics of governance. These attributes and this background, Fitzpatrick argues, make him uniquely qualified to serve.”
‘A Uniquely Qualified Candidate’:
“That said, our board agrees that Brian Fitzpatrick is a uniquely qualified candidate and so we recommend him for Congress.”
The endorsements add to an already impressive list of support, including the Fraternal Order of Police, Pennsylvania Professional Fire Fighters Association, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, National Federation of Independent Business, Humane Society Legislative Fund, BIPAC and ConservAmerica, among others.
