DOYLESTOWN, Pa.-– Bucks County FOP Lodge 53 — whose mission includes bonding together the police officers of Bucks County in fraternity and friendship as well as defending their interests and rights as members of local law enforcement– has endorsed Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick for reelection in Pennsylvania’s First Congressional District.
“Having made a career in law enforcement before my election to the U.S. House of Representatives, I understand the great sacrifice and risk associated with choosing this profession. The men and women of Lodge 53 keep the local communities of Bucks County safe and are responsible for bearing a greater portion of the responsibility for maintaining our high quality of life. In exchange for the great service they perform for our communities we must defend their interests in government. They must be guaranteed fair wages and a secure retirement, and their children must have access to quality educational and training programs so their future generations can also pursue success,” said Rep. Fitzpatrick.
Lodge 53 was founded In 1947 by a small group of police officers from Newtown Borough, Yardley Borough, Bristol Borough, Morrisville Borough, Upper Southampton Township, Doylestown Borough, Quakertown Borough, Perkasie Borough, and an officer from the Bridge Police. They now represent over 1000 active members and several hundred associate members.
